Wildflower (for Lyra)

petaled perfume
the waft of a lasting evening
stays in the night air still

such attraction
when opposites unite!
You stood out in a culled field of beauty
A Wildflower
with the blaze of spirit that overshadows day

Dare not
to put such splendid flora
and hem it in, confined
in Window Boxes.

. . .nor pluck
that which was not grown
to be vased, or potted
For pulchritude that shines so naturally, so free
must stay, as it was found:
a Wildflower

~Dearest Lyra - with only the greatest respect
for your family, for you,
I shall always keep this dedication just for you
with this poem, as well as prayers for God
to restore what he taken from you so ill-advisedly~
much love,
Jeff and Dulcy

*note: to fellow poets, please direct all responses
with regards to Lyra and not to this humble poet. Thank you!

I don't know Lyra very well, but she is in my prayers. The images in this poem were lovely....wildflowers truly are special. Good work.

Jeff and Dulcy...
I am touched beyond belief, by this exquisitely beautiful and caring tribute and prayer.
It truly brings tears to my eyes to know that so many of my friends here at Passions care so much about me.
I am trying very hard to beat this horrible disease.
So far, no one has been able to really give me any prognosis because it is such a rare cancer that there are really no reliable statistics on it...but, I know in my heart that I am a strong person...both physically and mentally...and I feel very strongly that I will make it through this....not without a fight...but I will make it and I will survive........in large part because of the support of all of my wonderful friends and also my family....and of course my dear husband, David...who is sacrificing everything just to make sure that I am taken care of right now.
Thanks so much again for posting this, Jeff and Dulcy   ~lots and lots of hugs~

Keth and Skyshine...thanks so much for your prayers....
They say that prayer really works and that people who have had lots of prayer, have a higher survival rate....
I really believe that ~hugs~

awwww.....heavy sigh
Been meaning to write something for a loooong time, MunkSter!
I do strongly believe in the power that belief can heal.
Dulcy and I, while watching a sentimental John Wayne movie
toasted you this evening, klinks of Red Raspberry tea mugs
and prayers for you
for wonderful recovery.
In our hearts
In our prayers
may you always wander
where miracles dare.

Sometimes a thanks just never seems to cover the gift of prayer given...but a smile, and a hug, does...

Hugs, Lyra...and big smiles....that's our thanks to You for making Passions so special...

Yes! Prayer works. I know! My doctors know! And the key to healing is simply faith. Just refusing to believe anything except the truth, that you are healed. Period! And yes! I know that you are. So enjoy it.

Lyra,
I believe you have your own cure. If anything can cure this it's your sense of humor. I remember a case an uncureable cancer
That did it with just that. He collectedd every vidio of humor he could find and literally laughed himself well. The doctors were amazed. This is a true story.

Lyra my dearest friend you know that you are in my prayers daily and in my thoughts constantly. I’ve told you often that I believe you will come through this, I have an instinct about this, and I really do. I know you have incredible courage and strength of spirit, I know David takes marvellous care of you, and I know you are beloved. Witness the prayers and the people who participate in this healing circle. The power of prayer is a marvellous thing, and I won’t stop praying until this is a long time over. Lyra darling heart Love and light darling gil to you and yours

Jeff beautifully written and thank you for dedicating it to Lyra, it is as beautiful as is your heart. Love and light to you and Dulcie.

Thank you so much, Noah...I may be a flower, but my cancer is one that grows like a weed...but fortunately, they are using some good weed killer to get rid of it....Hopefully it won't kill the flower instead.

Been gone all day, Munk-Ster, come back, and witnessed this tremendous
outpouring of prayers, hugs, and outright love for a cherished fellow poet.
my eyes are watering a bit right now, as i could just see your heart open up
a bit with each response you gave back.  Awwwww Lyra.....remember this
moment, because these are times that stay forever in our memories.

Sweet Lady, i am sure you feel the power of healing the spirit
that this combined group effort has given.
Our Easter/Passover present to you, Lyra.

The light from this group is enough to illuminate your state's night sky!

Please let the song in your heart sing loudly.  You are truly loved.  It shows!
