The Morning After
~~~
Sunlight
softlyflowing
into a woodland dawn
Where honeysuckles
lift their heads
from a sleepy morning fawn
Though all of nature
seems at rest
'neath
the fragrance
of a flower
A distant cadence
breaks the still
beneath
this rustic bower
~
A gentle thump
and then another
A shimmer
parts the years
Into the glade
a silhouette
with long thin drooping ears
The whiskers
graced
upon his face
show an ancient shade of grey
A basket
tucked
beneath his arm
as he stops
to bless the day
Then
with a yawn
he disappears
amid a dazzling sight
A multi colored kaleidoscope
that fades
'neath Easter's light
~~~

Rex!  What a delightful read....I remember as a child [a very little one...no, tinier than that...] wondering if our Easter bunny would come back for whatever colorful eggs we might miss...I remember when my children were collecting them, and my mental count of all the little gems they brought back, one, two, three...and on and on until I knew there would be no sulphuric smelling explosions a week or two later...

Thank you for this wonderful smile!

I loved this one. Whimsical and lyrical both.

(smiles) BRAVO!!! Oh my gosh, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I too always feel that Easter is not only the day where we celebrate His resureection and His promise of everlasting love but the rebirth of so many other beautiful things spring offers us, such as the laughter among innocent children and the flowers that bloom! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, you always amaze me with your refreshing words, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Rex, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thankyou all so much ... your words reach out and tough my heart, much more than you know
Each time I think of laying my writing to rest, friends tend to cast a wonderous spell, that carries me through
Thankyou all
