standing on a shadow's lace

Rear View Mirrors

would we rearrange
shadows cast
if we could step
into our past
go a different path
than the one shone
or leave
well enough alone
footprints in cement
hardened sand so strange
there are things
I’d like to change
large and small
in histories events
lived another way
than what was spent
too many things
held my wings in fetter
wish I had fought
my battles better
I would have voiced
my soul much more
had I have know
what was in store
I wish what I know now
I could have known then
but rear view mirrors only show
where you have been

"Pour yourself thick, when it is you, that you spread."

What an interesting piece of reflection you’ve written Helen. I must admit, if I could walk back into my past, yes there are things I would change. To be able to go back, and know what I know now….some things would definitely be different.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

This is a deeply profound work and one of your very best!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

(sigh) This is so very true, sweet friend, it always helps to look back every now and then without blosing ourselves in it so we can understand where we have come and embrace the future with new wisdom! (kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
