As sullen weight of somber air compresses all within its' path,
now silent lay small creatures where they've scurried from approaching wrath.
The leaden skys' dull metal hue absorbs the light from all that's seen,
depression offers up a view, to tinge dark clouds an eerie green.

Tumultous forces gather form, and fury charged with one intent,
en-gulf the Earth in thundering storm as hammer blows of lightning vent.
Attacking waves of armies spill their life-blood into swollen streams,
as mounts the tirade overhead, all powerful, or so it seems.

'Til gale winds in their advance pass by and give warm sun a chance,
to mop the battle-feild dry, reclaim the earth, renew the dance.
Where light before these humbled eyes bids rumbling storm a swift good-bye,
emergent voices, brief subdued, in concert end this interlude.

Interesting idea, as interlude.  Hadn't thought of it quite that way.  And I like the way you've enlivened it.

Krawdad,
Thanks and congrats on your 1000th post.

Noah,
Thank you. The wait, the occurance, the aftermath. All part of the interlude.
