twenty eight years ago
she locked it
shut it away tight
safe
but one day
she thought
to feel again
and the entrance
was too corroded
to open
she banged
pushed
kicked
and begged
it would not listen
with all possible
human endeavor
she prayed
it was still
locked tight
God patiently
watched, and
every now and then
in case she was
listening,
He called to her
with gentle knocking
she finally
broke down and
looked up
ok
let’s do it
your way
inches at a time
it opened
a beam of love
found its way inside...

Funny how sometimes, it's right there where you left it, just needs a little dusting off.

This touched me more than I can express, I wish that I had written this for, it seems that you speak of my life.
This is excellent writing and it's a keeper~

Take care,

She was alone in her crying, dear lady... for this is so beautiful it shared the tears. *S*

How many times do we pray... and determinedly go our own way? This is a powerful statement of faith... and that beam of light is a bud of hope. *S* Superb!

jellybeans

light always overpowers darkness...it just sometimes takes a hand to pull away the curtain.  This is powerful yet fragile poetry of feeling...hope filled.
