Falling Into The Sky

Sun's sanguine seeps across the mountain
through snow-capped peaks of crystal icing
frosted from weep before of capricious sky.
And, I close my eyes through sighs
that unfolds like petals of rose,
careening out of myself,
whirlwinding into the echo of shadows,
rising down into the up
of falling with intensity.

Into the silence of shifting sands
like a kite through waves of wine through time
the sun sways softly over skin, bathing me in it's light.
I catch my breath, so fresh upon the wind
through horizons of misplaced dreams
to find that they still live
in freedom's flutter, cradled with peace.

Imagination becomes the promised sky
through brushed hues of rainbow
that blend with strokes of azure
strutting a gown of diamond lace clouds.

Laughter plays beneath the sunset
leaving behind faded pictures of the past
from the unfinished canvas of eyes
as I become a work of art
by the muse of the Lord
in terracotta eclipse of day.

The moon hangs in black velvet
aside stars sprinkling lemon drops of dew
that tickle in swirl across my tongue
and coat my feathered sails
in adorn of miracles.
Breathless, in kiss of heaven's honey
through boundless sip awash over my voice,
I stroll in hum of serenity's song,
I am, at once, beautiful.

But, night refuses to dance into the dawn,
for, this is just illusion,
and, fate has not yet bestowed upon me
the wings of a butterfly.
Regret pales the kaleidoscope of life
as I am surrounded by the hands
of a thousand clocks ticking on my soul
that 'too late' is fast approaching.

My heart has too many blank pages
from books I never sought to read
like an unopened window of opportunity
made from fragile mosaic of glass
ready to shatter without warning
from tears that smear the windowpains.

Still, one must peer out once in a while
to fly into the beckon of love
until, at last, dreams see light
all the while soaring with intensity
of falling into the sky.

girlie...I dont know what youre putting in your tea..but I need some of it...
this is one very very cool write.
Your depth of expression wrapped up in poetic mastery of metaphor and imagery is becoming more impressive with every write.
That's one heck of muse ya got Melis.
Your pen gives you the gift of butterfly wings...dont doubt it.

Mel,

i truly am in awe of your work as of
late, and quite frankly a bit jealous
too

this is a seriously stunning write,
both imagery and vocabulary one of
perfection...excellent metaphors you
have here, formed only by the beautiful
writing of your words! gorgeous!

take care sweets.
