Near ocean’s roar, oh, there to dwell
Beside fair shore’s urbanity
No longer ground beneath the sound
Of big-town inhumanity.

Escape the madness that surrounds
life, sapping fragile sanity
Awaiting seas, calm ocean breeze,
Annihilate inanity.

Soar free with gulls that sail above
Aquatic surging rhapsody
Drown mournful dirge, sore sorrow’s scourge
Immersed by nature’s melody.

Fair Oceanside is spirit’s quell
Near ocean’s roar, oh, there to dwell.

Well, it's not really a sonnet, Nan, but I like it!

It may not be a sonnet to Nan's demands, but I'll put this lovely in my bonnet!

Well ya know, it's almost a sonnet....and it's beautiful. Made me want to pack up and head out to the coast. (Too bad I live in the Midwest.) Beautiful words and graphic, Denise! Nicely done!

Thanks everyone! I told Nan I was going to repost one of my old sonnets and then realized after I had this one ready to go that it wasn't really a sonnet...hehehe...but I thought it would be appropriate anyway for all the lucky ducks who will be visiting Cape Cod in a couple of weeks. I'll be there next year, guys!

Thanks, again, everyone!

Oh, the graphic is from Ron's greeting card selection. He's got some of the best I've ever found anywhere!

Denise,
A lovely place indeed. A lovely picture you paint. A place I would love to be.

(smiles) The ocean is always my favorite place to be other than the mountains; every time I feel depressed or am hurt by the turmoil in the world, I always go to the mountains and it always helps me soothe my mind and appreciate the beauty of nature that still exists in spite of all the tears! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is another gorgeous sonnet from your golden heart! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Denise, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

If you want this to be a sonnet...then...
IT IS...cause it is simply a very beautiful
and flowing poem,  very well written!!
