It's been a long time in coming
This is something though that I must do
My heart has finally eased from the pain you caused
It's time to say goodbye, but first I have some things to say to you

Through the tears and heartache that you caused
You also brought a smile to my heart
It's with sadness in my heart today
That I say farewell, and wish you a safe depart

To think of what we once shared
Brings a tear or two to my eye
However we both have moved on
I no longer question why

You have no idea the impact you've had on my soul
Perhaps our paths one day will cross again
You are no longer my lover
I'm not sure if you are still even my friend

The heart has a way of holding on
Much longer than it really should
I knew from day one you and I wouldn't last
I pretended though for as long as I could

I have found love again
This time much stronger than before
I'm not running away from you though
Just slowly closing the door

I want this to end on a good note
Please do not hold this against me
We both know we've been on borrowed time
That this had to end, couldn't go on endlessly

I wish you happiness
Pray that you honestly find love that is true
Maybe in years to come, you will see me again
Right now though I must say this soft goodbye to you

You've enriched my life for the better
Sounds funning knowing the pain we went through
Though many never understood the concept of us
We both always knew

Your games just caught up with us
I don't blame you, if that is what you think
Time just forced me to make a decision
I know you think you lost me with just a blink

If you're honest with yourself though
You'll know I tried with all my heart and soul
I couldn't fix the pieces of you that were broken
I did try though to make you whole

I've never been good at goodbyes
In fact I usually don't say them at all
You deserve to hear the words from me though
Not to be encountered with a cold wall

Goodbye friend, lover, the things you were once to me
Take good care of yourself, these words from my lips flow
I pray that tomorrow when you wake up without me in your life
These words will help cushion the blow

"you can't stop
the rain
from pouring down
can't stop the
world from turning 'round
can't stop me from
loving you
no matter
what you do

A nice way to end things, Amy...
also well written.

Parting is the sweetest sorrow indeed.
I can't imagine this was easy to write
as it was hard to read.  But through it
all I read your sincerity and good intentions.
My heart aches a little ache for you,
and I hope you find your peace.

Ah Aimster, this is gently softening the blow, but a blow nevertheless....

Amy, a very beautiful and soft way of saying goodbye.  There is no easy way, but this has been written with such a gentle tone, it should help to soften the blow.
Hugs sweetie.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Amy, this is so sad but beautiful, sweet friend, I know how hard it must be to say goodbye and you have expressed it so maturely and understandingly! (sigh) I hope now this burden is off your chest and now true love welcomes you each new day with a smile! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Amy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
