Have you ever Cried alone? Been so low And on your own Have you ever Held your hand closed tight? Fought back tears In the dead of night Have you ever Seen the sun set fast? The end to your day It’s gone at last Have you ever Felt your soul softly weep? Misplaced your thoughts And in silence keep Have you ever Hoped to see the truth? The one you glimpsed When wrapped in youth Have you ever Sought an answer clear? Gripped it tight And shook with fear Have you ever Thought the end would come? Lost all belief And almost run Well fix your eye Push wide the door Seek tomorrow Go back ………no more!! Jon Mewett All these moments |

All your readers have done these things- but none through your eyes stained glass windows. The pain of loss is universal- its description singular to each and every stained glass tear Perhaps, just perhaps- ther is a reason why saltwater rules two thirds the world. For there is no end to the gift or the pain of mankind. Thank you for the insight and perspective. "Sooner or later, Death makes a believer out of just about everyone." |

Jon, YES I have and I am sure so many others have too...this is such a wonderful poem with many thought provoking questions...you have a wonderful talent, that is beautifully expressed with your amazing words. i loved the entire poem but this following stanza it just really hit me... "Have you ever Felt your soul softly weep? Misplaced your thoughts And in silence keep" I sure have been here!
