Keys Thrown Away

Into this  quiet corner
Its my solitary zone
No one will see me
A heartbreaks alone

The state of oblivion
Enables me to hide
In wearing pretense
Heartbreaks  reside

The sadness I abide
Aches are caged in
Emotions confined
Heartbreaks within

My heart tearful lair
The despair is kept
Keys thrown away
Heartbreaks I wept

Left in this situation
I keep blaming me
In tears of lonliness
Heartbreaks reality

It may be said that we all make our own prisons. And of course, consigning one's heart to a dungeon- then to discard the keys, is what is often felt as needful for one's survival- both emotive and physical, (as if they could be seperated) yet the very knowledge of those keys, wantonly cast aside- offer the only escape possible. If one can find within the desire for light over night.

These in the cerebral did your words inspire.
Merci, for sharing your perspective. Perhaps words may be thy cathartic agent.

Hope,
Is this an invitation to a pity party. Sorry...we all have our bouts with a need to face the sad parts of our lives. But I seem to have this need to offer a smile regardless. Hope you don't mind. I certainly felt the pain in this piece and hope that is reflective of the past rather than the present. In either case I hope for a brighter day for you tomorrow. Peace.

Smiling back at you Larry
yes one of those bouts
we gain on the swings
and lose on the roudabouts
Hey I forgot to mention
Writing for pity
was never my intention

Hope,
It is my smart*** style. Sorry...my wit is often sharper than my mind! Thanks for your patience and I do think this is a well expressed poem.

Hope,

this is a very well expressed poem
with an tremendous amount of emotion
shown...i think all of us can relate
to the words you have penned...i hope
your tomorrows are brighter and better!

I wish I wasn't feeling this right now..but I am. Enjoyed this.
