Even though you are not, you are
and dear, no matter what, you are
From the light of most soft of eyes
I bask in warmth, hearing the sighs.

Even when I cannot, I can
Can love you ever, will this man.
I shall hold you, share your soft kiss
I’ll whisper, saying you I miss

I can waltz and dance night away
Fly in clouds above rainy day.
Shed a tear to mix with soft rain.
Tell you I do time and again.

In a dream of softness to weave
a picture of love I’ll conceive
To sing our song’s melodic tune
holding in sway beneath the moon

Lying softly upon your bed
Smiling, lightly stroking your head
Whispers of love into an ear
wisps of hair mingled with a tear

My torch does burn into the night
for in my heart I found the light
I vow to keep my dream come true
of you, of only you...I will do.

I love your play on words here, Barry...but I also love the whole poem...
Very romantic, indeed!
