Guilt

Aspens quaking in the waking of a dark and forlorn thought,
To the smiling of beguiling eyes that all but Time forgot.
In a vision, thought derision, given the Lord of her Keep;
Lay I, lowly, my head, slowly, to the masquerade of Sleep.

Dreamless, dancing death romancing all she ever cared to be,
How I wonder, fallen under this spell, how she came to me.
Shadows singing, echoes ringing, of the timeless moment spent;
To a sadness deemed as madness, I yet wonder where she went.

Echoes fading, Time parading:  Lo, the monarch of the day.
Sit I, sighing, soulless, dying for what I've watched slip away.
Laughter lingers off the fingers of her wispy hand in fold,
Still I’m reaching, yet beseeching her for All secrets untold.

To this season, void of reason; has all heart and hope contrived,
By an aching voice in breaking, to stand forever deprived?
By the longing and the wronging of a dream I never shared;
Will I falter at the altar to a charge:  I never cared?

Michael Anderson

03/24/02

But dreams of those who dream as I,
Aspiringly, are damned and die.

This is such a powerful and sadly beautiful write.
I was hanging on your every word and thought.
It moved me in every way and touched me deeply.
Thank you for this.

with your perfect cadence and rhymed.

as wonderfully as you do. nice to see you!

Michael,
With brilliance and classic style you have expressed what few dare to look at...
As a friend had told me...
"do know that you can fly." Best Wishes,

The rhyme scheme you've woven so perfectly throughout, lends itself beautifully to the flowing cadence ... the entire piece just sings Michael. What a wonderful read ... what a wonderful ponder. Very much enjoyed, as always from you!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Michael, I fail to see how someone with emotions this powerful can be accused of not caring. Stay strong.

You do know how impressive this write is, dont you?
I'm sitting here shaking my head at you...
I dont know which is more impressive...but I know the internal rhymes, alliterations, word play and turn of phrase in this just blew me away.
Added to the way you master vocabulary and cadence...and then the emote which always leaves me breathless...and once again.. you take poetry to higher levels and teach us what one can do when they listen to their gifted muse. You are poetry M ... and Im just grateful to get to read what you do so very well.

Of all the things in me I could never be,
of the true I kept hidden from view,
the best parts of my heart ...
were the ones touched by you.

i sincerely doubt it... knowing you, i'd say the worst you could get charged with is caring too much.

peace bro, very well done, and no gramattical errors

Just a wonderful write!  While sad, I loved the internal rhyming scheme!
Well done!

You and your poetry have been missed, Micheal.
Its good when you're here.

I'm in awe of course.

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.
