Look at this vibrant sky!
It has lost its shroud
that hung gray and cloaked
across back yards.

It flung it off for spring,
to see how a sky can beam
after the wind has brushed it
and torn all wayward leaves
that would be fluttering.

I can feel the ions shift
and quicken the pulse of time,
for the minute is crisp
and going is not laced
but silky with movement.

The flowers are listening
for the honey bees return
their ears cocked
their sweetness opening,
fragrant and beguiling.

Look at this vibrant sky!

I see the fragile canopy
that held my youth
tattered and failed
across the ripening grasses,
and I think this day
is for a lover’s touch,
singing nonsense songs,
and screeching children
gleefully negligent
of their preciousness.

It is also a day for shedding,
and that’s what I do.
Like the snake,
this skin has grown
too old for the slither of my soul,
this ripe blossoming is wondrous
in its new and ribald glistening,
it splits the old and leaves it
like an errant leaf,

and today I will rake it up.

So the sun is gleaming golden in your windows too, is it?!  Good to know...when I was padding about the kitchen this morning, it was beaming gold in my rooms, and I was thinking...today's a SPRING day...then I looked out and watched the robin shiver!  Hopefully we'll get up to 60 degrees today...just before the snow flies on Monday and Tuesday....ROTF...

good MORNING Martie!!!!

once again I say...the sky is one of your finest muses.
this is so full of anticpation and retrospect.
and like Sunshine...we cant get winter to let go yet either..last week we were in 70s this week we went back into 20's and all the buds and bulbs got zapped. Theres no rhyme or reason...just mother nature  reminding us who is in control of changing the seasons.

It is darn cold here, and no sun either, so I am delighted for you Martie that someone is warm.  What an incredilbe way you have of taking the same words I know and sqeezing out every bit of life from them and making something so pleasurable to the mind and eye. Have a wonderful day in that sunshine!

Martie,  this makes me want to get out and
plant flowers, rake leaves and shed my own
skin....

Nice write, enjoyed!
