You don't break it off suddenly you say goodbye slowly You don't say a word you don't argue you don't defend yourself You're just not here even when you are here You can care less You leave and you return when you feel like You let it linger destroying love Until love is no more So this is how you say goodbye |

 (sad sigh) This is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to the many who always face these kind of heartache and I pray that the lovers that go off saying goodbye like this can somehow realize their faults and be able to talk it over compassionately with their loves and have the heart to forgive openly! You've described me to a "T"  which is not something I'm proud of but i really don't know if the alternative is better, saying goodbye is saying goodbye and either way its gonna suck and hurt. Sometimes, slowly is the only way to finally say goodbye...sometimes it is because the lingering thoughts that are never spoken are not allowed to be expressed or are undefendable no matter how rational...but yes, it hurts none the less! Very well said Walker. |
