Where Does?……… Here Where does your soul go if it seeks peace? What may it do to if torment won’t cease? Will it seek the darkness that lies within? Curl up in its tomb let the madness in Will its sight darken and lose its light? Will it gibber and cower in mind’s night? Where does it go when it seeks sanctuary? Where will it find its reason to be? Here let your soul rest let it come to me Here in my heart it will find sanctuary With my soul there to show it the way I’ll make sure that in peace it can ever stay Let me keep it here inside safe and sound Wrapped in love but never kept bound Free to come and leave to stay here or go Feel the love in my heart feel the river flow Why does your heart shed so many tears? What does it know that summons such fears? Does your heart feel abandoned and adrift? Does it seek someway to seal this rift? Will it drift aimlessly lost and forlorn? Wondering why it is lost to the dawn? Why does it call out, why cry so sadly Where will it find some real company? Here let your heart come, let it be with me Here in my soul there’s a place of safety I will show your heart the paths of peace In me you’ll find all your troubles will cease Lay yourself down float in soft serenity Glide into calmness yield yourself to me With me you’ll find your troubles depart Come to me and I will hold safe your heart Marsha To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 [This message has been edited by Marsha (03-22-2002 07:52 PM).] |

sis, i know i always respond kindly to your work with my loving words, but i must say this is one of your top best...i love the creativy that is in this poem, and i love the idea of writing a duet with yourself using the persona of two voices..a truly clever idea! as always your writing leaves me full of hope in both love and life. since knowing you this past year my dear friend and sister of my hearrt i have had the pleasure of watching you grow both as a person and as a poetress and it has been my extreme joy to see that you've finally found a love that leaves your heart with happiness and your soul free. may God always bless you and may you always know the kind of peace you do now.
