Father and Son

Repent
of this?
Is not my life, a wall of days
each so mortared to the next
as only abstinence can fit,
thick with testament enough?
Must conscience trowel into my dreams
to scrape and dig and thus remove
the moment that my sleep once sighed,
my heartbeat skipped to glimpse
a woman?
Is Your creation by this chink so flawed?
Or could not such an imperfection
fill with dust, and night by night
by fertile night accumulate
what?
Filth? Perhaps, and yet just once
to find in heaven a trust reversed
that You might wait upon my self
as winter waits upon the spring
with melting snow in rivulets.
Could love not bloom
in this, one fissure?

Bob

My.

You might wait upon my self
as winter waits upon the spring
with melting snow in rivulets.
Could love not bloom
in this, one fissure?

You touch my heart with this one.

my heartbeat skipped to glimpse
