A Summer Night(villanelle)

The quiet beauty of a summer night.
Breathless I am left. Such deep desire
The inner soul of me does now ignite.

A verse Shakepearean you now recite.
My spirits lifting higher now and higher.
The quiet beauty of a summer night.

The stars in sapphire splendor sparkle bright
With soft sweet words that you alone inspire,
The inner soul of me does now ignite.

It moves me, I am filled with pure delight.
Wonder, oh mysterious, I admire
The quiet beauty of a summer night.

The lantern moon shines softly in my sight.
To be with only you I do aspire.
The inner soul of me does now ignite.

A princess I who clings to gallant knight.
A faithful love my yearning heart requires.
The quiet beauty of a summer night.
The inner soul of me does now ignite.

Floria, your writing grows every day. I have no idea how to do this form, what an excellent example you have given.

You're spaking my language when you write of love   This is beautiful, Floria!
Maybe someday, I'll be brave enough to attempt a villanelle.

Take care,
Melissa~

Beautifully done, Floria...
I have never even attempted a villanelle...I don't think I have the knowledge, the patience or the nerve to tackle one of these.

You are a wonderful poet and a wonderful person... ~hugggsss~

Oh Lyra you are truly a great friend. And your poems always touch my heart. You could easily do one of these, just pull up the form and copy the pattern. It truly is easy. Love ya, floria
