Duncan’s Day Off
(or why little dogs should stay on the porch)

I am not a patient guy, I get bored quite easily
Sometimes my need to be entertained, goes beyond reality
Now at those times, if I was wise
I’d jump in the car, take a drive
Pick up that book, I’ve been meaning to read
Hoe the garden, get it ready to seed
Clean out a closet, vacuum the rug
Take a walk in nature, make friends with a bug
But more often than not, I think it’d be fun
To sit at this computer, with a big glass of Rum
And play in my mind, all the games the big dogs play
Jump right off that porch, run bold into the day
Full of 80 proof courage, and Chihuahua bravado
I still think that, I'm quite the stud, though
And I’m running with the big dogs, till Trace comes pulling in
Sees the mess around the yard, asks me where I’ve been
And before I can stop it, my tail’s between my legs
I’m not sure what I did yet, but it ain’t too soon to beg
Forgive me for the newspapers, torn up on the lawn
And oh about that bench, you used to like sitting on
The shoes, oh the shoes, I’m so busted there
Wait here it comes, some crack about my hair
Yes I got off the porch, and I really don’t know why
It’s my favorite place to be, when I am by your side
So next time I feel the need, to entertain myself
I promise to do it quietly, with a book from my own shelf

Hey Dunc... no problem ( oops said that too loud didn't I) ( whispering now)

Hmmm.. I do know a place they say you can get your belly scratched... but heard the kibble wasn't too good there... geez... maybe tracie could just fetch us a couple of bones and we could go gnaw on them in the back yard.... I am getting rather old you know...

( which hydrant? ) I'm sure she'll trust you out with me...

Now Duncan Chihuahua bravado will not get you in that much trouble.... just don't hang around with the big dogs if you drink too much and don't get lured, just keep the distance (That's a tip from your Uncle Larry)

ROTFLMAO. Duncan, don't you know you'll NEVER get a day off with a gal like the Trace? Much less a day off the lease? LOL, this epidsode is so much better than any TV comedy series. Does she give you those little Snausage treats when you're really really good?
PS, this line is GREAT!
