~ Erasure ~

I’ve done it at last I’ve set myself free
Erased the last trace of you and me
I don’t know why it’s taken me so long
But finally I know I hear my own song
Why was it so hard to forget your face?
Why did I keep hold so long to your trace?
I don’t know why I even recalled you
I knew in my heart you’d never be true

I deleted your name from my memory
Filed you under persons unknown to me
I placed all of your letters in the trash bin
Snuffed out the ember that was still within
I doubt if you’d know me now anyway
I’m not the same as I was in your day
There’s someone in my life that really loves me
Someone who believes in loving totally

I’ve swept clean the empty corners of me
Removing you totally from my vicinity
Now I’ll be free of this odd thrall of you
That kept me hovering in hopes of true
Not that I wanted you back here in me
I want that understood quite clearly
What did I want? I wished to say goodbye
Now I have, and I didn’t even cry

Marsha

BRAVO!!! Oh Marsha, this is soooooo very sad but wonderful, sweet friend, I am relieved you rid yourself of those sad memories but I hope now that in that vacant spot in your heart a new love and happiness has moved in! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is excellent! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Marsha--

I enjoyed your poem.  I'm afraid that I have a similar memory written in disappearing ink that still surfaces once in a while.  It happens less frequently.  Great title!

Wonderful soul-purge, Maaaaashaw.  How the heck did you
accomplish that feat?  if bottled, you could sell it for millions
who suffer from broken hearts.  sigh
Your writing is classically fresh and homespun!  Enjoying it very much!

Jeff darling boy thank you so much I really and truly thank you. I doubt if I’d get much trade, who wants a panacea when being a little tortured is such an effective way to call up the emotions. Besides it's a wonderful way to write poetry, although I prefer to be happy.

Thank you always

Newell darling boy thank you very much this was an old wound that needed final closure, you know sometimes no matter how dead something is you seem to hold on knowing it’s a bad idea. I wouldn’t say the emotions were very pretty but they are all erased now. Thank you muchly

It is a great feeling when you can finally say you are free! I can certainly relate to this one, and you did a marvelous job of describing the process of getting your life back after heartache! You go girl! Beautifully penned Marsha!

~~oops! Sorry about that! I used Netscape instead of Explorer...this is Dulci...I get them mixed up sometimes...When you share computers, it gets pretty confusing...*LOL*

Now you see, I knew there was a reason why erasers were made, Wow how easy it is to just erase someone..I love this idea you clever girl. lovely as usual. floria

’Deer dearest heart, you KNOW how much a compliment means from you. Thank you muchly. I shall take that compliment and put it in my pocket to take out and brandish at Krissy the next time she gets cock-a-hoop over having snaffled the computer before me. Krissy darling heart did you read what ‘Deer said I think you’ll find that puts me ahead on points?

Thank you soooooo much ‘Deer,

Floria darling girl yes indeed that’s exactly what erasers were made for to edit out the mistakes we all make. This memory needed to be totally erased and I think finally that it is gone.
