Eat of the egg that reminds you of the world in your hands
consume the matzos that tells of the unleavened baked on hot sands.
take the bitter herbs to your lips, hold up a wine cup
dip greens into salt water and prepare for this special sup.

On the table of observance, fill the cup for a welcomed guest
who will enter your home of prayer at no bequest?
the four questions are asked by the youngest to find out why
why reflect on ancient customs, why remember the time gone by?

It gives reason to an existance
allows us to keep at our persistence;
so that we can can ask the question why
chosen souls can mark survival gone by.

How well you explicate the meaning of faith.

Happy Passover, Martin...
Time sure has passed fast this year...its hard to believe that Passover will be here in about a week and a half.
I will try to write a poem about it too!
The supermarkets are stocking up on Passover Matzohs and macaroons already...and I am getting that yen for matzohball soup.
Thanks for sharing this one and have a Happy Passover.

Happy Passover to you too Lyra and enjoy yourself it's only once a year.
