~*~ Please Stay ~*~

All around me seems frozen in time
as I wait in the quiet of dawn.
Echoing far off in the distance
I hear a heart, or is it just the wind
softly whispering my name?
“Please Stay”

I strain to drink in memory of every word
my heart ever heard you sing or speak
in your Gaelic so sweet as honey.
I long to taste your strained words
in the dampness of this morning’s dew.
“Please Stay”

My body feels that sudden chill of you
dancing and ribboning through me.
So softly and quietly you tip-toe,
while my mind whispers out loud,
“Please stay”

My days have been so lifeless
and oh, so deathly quiet.
Restless nights toss wildly
in the memory of your name.
I try not to close my eyes.
“Please Stay”

I have no more tears to give you,
just an ancient Gaelic prayer,
entwining our spirits forever more.
Silently the wind carries my pledge
to you, while I hold you in my heart, yet
under my breath I whisper,
“Please stay”

My friend Willow was Irish to the core, with a temper to match and I loved her for that too!

Oh my ... Sharon, this is such a beautiful piece!  Your phrasing is stunning throughout. I started to copy my favorite lines, but wound up copying them all! What an excellent tribute to Willow ... this is truly lovely in both format and sentiment!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Sharon, strange as it may seem, yet not really strange at all...this is exactly how I always pictured Willow would look!  This is lovely and yet another memory shared with us, which I for one hope you will always continue to do.  Irish blessings bestowed upon you today dear friend.  Hugs.

Beautiful Sharon, just beautiful. As people come and go in our lives, the memories of some people just stay forever.

Sharon, Willow is blessed to have a true, loving friend like you.
"I long to taste your strained words in the dampness of this morning’s dew."
Your poetic gifts are showing in this deep expression of friendship.

How beautiful.
For you and Willow:
The heart and soul of Willow
doth billow in the breeze
'round Canadian seas
and Mysteria's poetic trees.

OK, so it's as corny as corned beef hash, and maybe full of blarney. But Have a Happy Day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone

I print all these replies out and they are added into the book that is being made in July for the kids, and I know they are going to really treasure each one.

Maggie ~ I hunted everywhere for an Irish angel and trust you to find one, you are a sweetheart you know that.

Kit, Sunshine, Nan, Janet Marie, Nancy, and Kacy  ~ A special thank you for always helping me keep her in my mind (as it fades unfortunately for some reason), I am blessed to have you as friends.

Nightshade, Tracey, Seymour and Noah ~ It is the wonderful folks like you that make it so comfortable for me to write about her, and I thank you for that.

Nancy ~ I did put a picture of her up once but her family would prefer that I don't do that, but it is on a poem I did (the picture was taken the day she actually got her part in Riverdance and moved from ballet to celtic dancing, which she never regretted), and she was much prettier than that picture shows.  Her hair was down past her butt, and it was absolutely beautiful like the hair on this girl in the picture. Here is the link to that picture if you wish to see her... /pip/Forum50/HTML/002687.html

I saved this picture especially for today, and thank you all so much you warmed my heart on a very sad day for me.

You know you are all so kind and understanding while putting up with me writing these, and I so appreciate it.  They will be over soon at least in the forums, but for now there are many people you don't know coming to peek It is hard for me to read your comments sometimes but I do appreciate them so very much.
