Sometimes,
I take things
out of context.
Has that ever happened
to you?
Like the time he said
he would never leave me
(and I thought it was Love)
but what he meant was
he'd never leave me
with a moment of peace.
Sometimes,
I misinterpret the words.
Has that ever happened
to you?
Like the time he said
he'd never abandon me.
(and I thought it was Love)
but he meant he'd never
abandon me without
enough telephone change
to call someone else
for help.
Sometimes,
I take things
out of context.
Has that ever happened
to you?

Out of context?  Hell, Kacy, I take things clear out of reality!  It's a conspiracy, ya know?  A red-headed conspiracy.
Relateable!

Has this ever happened to me?
Ummm well.....I was so sure it was love.

Boy oh boy I can't stand it when I'm wrong,
maybe I should change my hair color.

Duncan, LOL. Are you caught in a battle with redheads again? You don't stand a chance if they all stick together, dude.

Blues, Me too. I'm thinking of covering part of the grey with neon green. LOL, I've been reading too much Stephen King!

(sigh) Oh my gosh, I think we all trip upon this every now and then, I believe this kind of irony can relate to every one of us! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderfully expressed! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah, you mean to say you do this too? LOL, it's nice to have company.

Lauren, I guess I'm not alone on this one.

In the reality I am living, there is no context.. The only wish I have.. is that I could be taken out!

I liked this poem.. it spoke volumes to me.

ROFL

Like the time he said
he would never leave me
(and I thought it was Love)
but what he meant was
he'd never leave me
with a moment of peace.

You have written my ex-husband here!! I didn’t know you knew him!! Lmao.

Now, I’ve just read the replies…and if you believe Duncan’s redheaded conspiracy theory!!! Well, don’t tell him, but, you know, we’re trying to have him committed. He seems to have lost some of his faculties tonight (oh, okay, maybe they were never there in the first place!!!)

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Tracey, I'm quite sure I'm not the only one around here who is taking things out of context or misinterpreting.
BTW, what happened to the swing set and all the toys?

Kacy,
Some times I take things out of context
Like the time she said
She'd love me til the end of time
But she meant the battery operated one
Oops! times up.

I did, and now that is why I love living alone

Doesn't happen as often anymore. I've learned to place a value on the container from which words emanate, and I've become a rare collector.

Mysteria, you are smarter than most, as you seem to learn from your 'mistakes.' LOL, I learn selectively.
Richard, how nice to see your name here. You are one of the smarter ones too. Hope all is well with Wells et all.

Hummmmmmm...well, okay...yep...it sure does! A lot! *LOL* Loved this one, had me laughing all the way through...maybe if we got in the habit of asking them to clarify that statement, we wouldn't keep making the same mistake over and over? NAH...I doubt it! *LOL*

Oh Heck, Kacy. . .Life was built, just so we could see things in a
different light.  Imagine:  all clone-children, with the same perspective.
Sometimes taking things out of context is just another PofView.

uh...then again
Sometimes we are.....uh  wroooon
uh  roooong
uh wruuung
uh  raannnng
Why can't i say THAT word?????

Out of context, Kacy.....I don't think there is any one of us who hasn't done that.
Its like when I used to tell my kids...
"don't drive fast" and they didn't hear the word "don't".....so they could blame the ticket on me because I told them to drive fast.LOL
I loved your poem

LOL, I am having so mush fun reading these replies. Thanks, guys and gals! Yes, we all do take things out of context. It's a kind of selective attention and selective amnesia thing, maybe another prooof of cognitive dissonance? LOL, after another glass of wine I just might post a poem about cognitive dissonance. Unless, of course, someone beats me to it? OK by me, even if it's out of context!

PS, the misspellings are almost intentional...almost. Taken outta contest...er, context, you might think I had 'nuff wine for tonight.
