They took from her
of her
what they needed
without a thought
or care
to how they left
the structure
of her

Through words
she would heal
and try to repair
the breaks
the tears,
try to fill
the voids left
empty
abandoned

Sometimes
there were no words
that could back fill
the empty
no flowers
she could
paint
to stop the
erosion
of her

Yes, there were the words
of self destruction
creating
raw emotions
hoping only
to feel something
anything
if only for a while

But the sad
realization
is that they are
only words
and they cannot always
build upon
the foundation
that has been
damaged
by the quaking
by the taking
of her

Words cannot
replace
love
respect
and the nurturing
that she just might
need
for herself

Cannot return
the emotions needed
for surviving
the without
the lonely
the ache
in her

Yet she clings
to the words
as her tears
make their way
down
and her pen
moves
in frantic scrawl
hoping to find
the right words
to once again
make her
whole

I feel the strength behind the write...it is not every one who is willing to be rebuilt, or would have the guts to show the world the result...

I am so very proud of you!

Dear Susan, your words made me sob.  I don't know if it was the erosion, the quaking or the acheing,  or perhaps the way your pen scrowled down an all too familiar page.
It is human nature to want our love to be recipricated, and it is heart breaking when we realize they are just words on a screen...
To this day I wonder how and why we let them effect us so deeply.  It makes no sense to me.
I wouldn't have wanted to miss reading this for the world, as it makes me feel less alone, although I am sorry to be keeping you company in your misery.  Wish I could just turn the page and never look back!!  Dayummmmmmm!!!

*hugs* dear heart~

Susan,
Well...these words won't rebuild Susan either! I'm sad to confess. But if that were possible I would craft those words right here and right now. Yet I am hoping that some words will be a tool in the rebuilding of you. You are indeed an inspiring poet whose romantic quill fills my heart with much warmth and I'd like to give some of that back now...okay?

Good heavens above, woman!! *S* Like doreen said... I felt every word... painfully and powerfully.

This is a tower of strength built from the rubble of "was"... and lady, it's beautiful. *S*

Sometimes
there were no words
that could back fill
the empty

But you've found your voice... and filled our hearts.

Words cannot
replace

But they can make a difference... yours do. Into my library this goes. *S*

Susan

this one hit home in such a huge way.
i felt your words my dear friend as
tears streamed down my face...you have
such a loving heart and i adore both you
and your writing...passions wouldn't be
the same without you. we all love you
very much, and i know that right now your
heart is in pain and you feel lost, but
hang in there...tomorrow may be the day
when your sun shines again. till then
you're in my thoughts and prayers.

love ya sweets.

In the end, always, there are the words.  And they are who we are, and yet, we are who they are.

In this, my friend, is our strength, and our foundation.

Thank you.

they tried their best to dehumanize
they tried their best to demoralize
but all they did was energize
your star will rise
fall into the skies
when you learn to realize
you win the prize
friends more your size
when they try to terrorize
is when you need to fantasize
see places they can't minimize
they hide away in deep, deep sighs
try to sneak in in disguise
but your heart YOU supervise,
and this will only make you wise,
and less easy to compromise
with amazon cries
you block their eyes
and don't stop to let them criticize.

so there.

Sea if Sunshine wasn't my sunshine you would be, always my ray of sweets words in my email box!  Sea, you have done a wonderful job of putting Susan-dumpty almost back together again, and just by readng this healing poem, you have to sense, inner strength and fortitude to finish the job and be all the better for it.  Think back on an email you sent me not too long ago about "all" the kids and how they felt because of him, well honey I should have said it to you then, that it is because of you too.  I've only been here a year, and the change I have seen in one year astounds me, and in case I never told you before Susan, "I love everthing about you and am so proud of what you have done for you!" (one day the hug is going to be a real one, but today it is a virtual hearthug of understanding and love) x o
