Life Is Bizarre.

How far is bizarre?
How many uneven steps
‘till I cross that fine line
between what seems normal
and what seems bizarre?
Or did I already
crossover
without realizing
I was gone?
Life.
Sometimes it pulls me
against myself,
like taffy.
How far can I stretch
before I break?
How much sewage can I smell
before I retch?
How far is bizarre?
When do you know
you’ve gone too far
to get back to the middle?
Do you even want to go revisit
the same point twice?
Stretch me.
Bend me,
spend my soul,
waste my heartbeat,
tear it apart
under careless
stomping feet.
How far to bizarre?
Life is bizarre.
But no matter
how bizarre it gets,
I can’t seem
to live
without it.

Midnitesun,
You visit the bizarre, you don't stay there.
Enjoyed the write.

Wow, now that was totally Bizarre! *LOL* Just kidding! I liked the way it coiled around just touching the bases and then skirted itself back home again. Yep, what would life be like without it? *LOL* Loved it.

this was one of the most interesting pieces
of poetry ive ever read...you left us with
lots to ponder...i especially liked

"Sometimes it pulls me
against myself,
like taffy.
How far can I stretch
before I break?
How much sewage can I smell
before I retch?"

A very clever way of putting your thoughts
together...i liked this a lot! take care.

Midnite, who wants to be dull? I guess we all would like to stretch it out a little to the bizarre, but not too much. LOL..good one here, floria

very good write...I don't think it's worth going back over..I am learning that you can't ever go back so you must look ahead..and just maybe it will be even better
than it was. *s
By the way..no one's life could ever be more bizarre than mine has been this last year and a half...

Rubberband stretched limits
walks on cliff edge
teasing a viper
there HAS to be an easier way just to enjoy life.
You have some very intriguing and compelling
lines, MidniteSun.  Not written simply, but with much poise!
My best to you,
Jeff

Thanks and to each of you, for always making life's bizarre bazaar more interesting. I wrote this one around midnight last night, in the dark, and at morning's first light, I thought it might be too bizarre to post.  I guess it wasn't so bizarre after all. Thanks!
