Quick Silvered Anger

quick silvered
words of anger
born out of pain
stained the very
should have been
regret is
making up excuses
to clear
the airs of thickness
guilt is deeds
done in denial
maybe when I
said them
I meant them
for the music
got louder till
there was nothing
but the echoes
of silence
in our ugly dance
of revenge
my turn, your turn
who could slash
the deepest
and was the loss
worth the cost
absence
where presence
had been
I’m sorry’s became
you’re not good enough
but maybe
not good enough
happened long ago
and your left
grieving the words
and all the regret
in the world
can’t heal
what you
have done

"Pour yourself thick, when it is you, that you spread."

wow....
my turn, your turn
who could slash
the deepest
and was the loss
worth the cost
absence
where presence
had been...

I think it's never
worth the cost of loss...

but you said it well...much better than I ever could.

Helen - this is an awesome write. Chris

Helen, are you sure your title is "Quick Silvered Anger? Sounds more like "Quick Slivered anger. As Silver describes purity.
Very well written, though the very thought of such anger I find sad.

This was sad but such a good write, with some powerful words. floria
