This morning,
I am having coffee.
Nothing unusual about that.
But this morning,
in my mind,
and via the Internet,
I am having
coffee with Kafi.

What would we be discussing?
What questions would I like to ask?
Would the focus be on Terror,
or Hunger,
or Crime,
or El Nino?

What questions would
YOU like to ask?
Do your homework.
Be prepared.
Know the chain of events,
before you ask your question,
"What's happening March 13, 2002?"

Did you know
one-third of the
World's children
in developing countries
are malnourished?

Did you know that
2001 was the UN
Year of the Volunteer?

Do you remember who withdrew
from the Kyoto treaty on Global Warming?

Have you ever asked why the UN members voted
the USA off the Human Rights Commission?
and the Drug Commission?

Did you know that the US and Somalia are the
only two countries not to ratify
the UN Rights of The Child treaty?

Before you sit down to
coffee with Kafi,
you might want to follow
the links below
so you might know
what's happening,
and how we got
to where we are
today, because
staying connected
with the rest of the planet
is a vital part of
the pathway to Peace.

May the ripple of LOVE
become the wave of PEACE

Midnite Sun:  nodding all the way with your words:  exceptional thoughts here.
I will come back to this a few times.  In my real job, i am a part time political
writer/journalist.  Poetry is a nice digression, but the subjects you speak of,
and the need for global harmony and understanding....perhaps only Kafi can
do something about!  Great subject and idea, MS!

This is very effective, wonderful. Thanks for the two links.  I'll have a look at those sites.

Jeff, thank you. The links are part of the chain. So are you, so am I. Peaceful thoughts to you, dear friend.

Accordionmaid, thanks. Yes, take your time with these two links, and they will undoubtedly help lengthen the chain of Love that we need to surround the globe.

Maybe we should withdraw from the UN completely.

(big hugggsssssss) Yes, yes, we must all pay attention to what is happening in the world so we know how we can all help and do our part to help nourish those who need it the most and bring harmony to all our worldwide neighbors! (sigh) This is excellent and thought-provoking, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ivy Rose, thanks for your comment.
Interloper, I cannot agree with you on this.
Noah, thanks friend.

BTW, the UN Security Council has voted on a US drafted resolution regarding Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This is the first time the UN has ever officially aknowledged the Palestinians rights. I consider this a step in the right direction, if it in any way brings to a halt, the constant bloodshed. Let there be Peace.
