Some things are so tough to grasp
Like love, and what makes it last?
Does everyone truly deserve it?
What if the freezer could be used to preserve it?

The symbol of love dies
Like long stem red roses
A pair of eyes cry
Love's scent isn't for all noses?

Lovers wish upon the stars
While others opt for magic potion
I'll just offer you my heart
By chance, these sparks will lead to explosion

My love for you flows in more ways than one
It's thawed out from the cold and survived desert sun
I know you're not big on affection
Just know I'll be there like funhouse mirror reflections

To last forever seems like a fairytale
That just wont come true for me
Our history will never reach the trash pail
As long as you walk with me through love's journey

Whoa....

Rose, I love it! Wonderfully done. Powerful emotions and feelings come through. A beautifully crafted love poem. Looking forward to more, my friend.
