Interpreting this poem by Su Ting, my way.

The year is ended, and it only adds to my age;
Spring has come, but I must take leave of my home.
Alas, that the trees in this eastern garden,
Without me, will still bear flowers.

Su Ting (670-727)

Of Time

Another year ends;
Outside the seasons changing
Reacquainting  friends
Spring to life rearranging.
Dwellings left behind
To come of age in gardens;
Memories of kind
Blossom as each pain lessens,
To flourish in prime
Like Willow Tree in year's time,
Softly mellowing my climb.

M

Very nicely done,
Catching the spirit of the first translation
In a reinterpretation in another form.

Maureen, I'm keeping this.  It's too pretty to let go of.
