Flowers resting near a small stream
One for each of your years
Thoughts of our unfulfilled dreams
Fflood these lonely eyes with tears.
Much too small blooms this bouquet
Your life had only begun
So much we'd left to say
In a reunion undone,
But love doesn't diminish
With separation and death
"Know my heart" is the one wish
I make with every breath
"Please understand why we parted
How I struggled and tried
I have lived broken-hearted
So many regrets I've cried
Believe my arms felt so empty
And  I ached for your touch,
Twenty years stated simply -
Dear child, I miss you so much.
I'll love you long past forever
And each day, every night
Wish us once more together
With all my heart, all my might."
Tears flow boldly, unrestrained
And shaken, I turn to leave
When sunlight prisms my pouring pain
And colors my grief.
As a rainbow splits the sky
With vibrant color and hue
The breeze brings a softly whispered sigh...
"Dearest Mum, I love you, too."

For Cindy with love... remembering as promised.

Very powerful imagery, and such an incredible memory, full of love and tenderness.

When sunlight prisms my pouring pain
And colors my grief.
As a rainbow splits the sky
With vibrant color and hue
The breeze brings a softly whispered sigh...
"Dearest Mum, I love you, too."

Sunshine:  That's the best offer I've had in a while... so hug away, sweet lady. *S* Maybe some of your talent will rub off on me... I can sure hope! *S*

Balladeer:  Thank you so much, dear friend. *S* I thought you would... and I'm so glad. *S* That lady certainly deserves the best!

PDV: Thank you. *S* I wonder is she realizes how much she is missed? *S* I hope she does.

Janet Marie:  I try not to make a promise unless I believe I can keep it. *S* Unfortunately, senior moments are coming more and more often... but I try. *S* Thank you very much.

Krissy: If the love shines through, the poem has succeeded. *S* Thank you so much.

CocoBaci: I don't think anyone has ever called my words "eloquent" before. *S* I thank you from the bottom of my heart. *S*

Seymour: Thank you so much. *S* Your lovely reply is appreciated... your hug and kiss are cherished. *S*

Marge:  I learned the definition from you, dear lady. *S* For the reply and the learning... I thank you. *S*

Midnitesun:  I don't think you had the chance to know our Rainbow Girl, but "full of love and tenderness" describes her well. *S* Thank you very much.

Interloper:  You don't need many words to leave this heart humbled. *S* Yours did... and I thank you. *S*

M'toe Angel: I thank you very much... your reply means much to me. *S*

hoot: She is so special... I never see a rainbow without thinking of her... I just hope the day comes when her only tears are happy ones. *S* Thank you so much. *S*

Little Chick: I don't know if you'll drop by to see this... but it's really not about you reading or not. Whether our arms can reach you or not, you're in our thoughts and in our hearts. Though not related by blood, we are bound by love... We're family, we love, we remember... we always will. *S* Your very own... Mother Hen.

By a strange coincidence I was thinking of Cindy earlier today when I realised I have to drive down to her neck of the woods tomorrow for a business meeting.

Perhaps coincidences come in threes, maybe the rainbow will return.

Thanks for the chance to read and reply.

jellybeans: I know I'm lucky to have you *S*... thank you so much. *S*

Phaedrus: I hope she does... so very much. *S* Thank you for your response... and thank you for clearing up a mystery. *S* I knew I knew you under a long ago name but was too blonde to figure out the familiar. *S* I'm glad you're back.

Suthern...Most touching poem I've ever read.  Touched my heart deeply.  Being a mother of two daughters and two sons, I can only imagine the depth of your grief.  Thanks for pouring your grief into this excellently rendered poem.

Marge: You sweetheart. *S* I love you, I do. *S* Thank you!

Martie: Big hugs back to you, sweet lady. It honors me that this touches you... for I do know. *S* Thank you so much.

vandana: Thank you. *S* I'm glad.

Pilgrimagee: I'm sorry for the tears. *S* But I'm so glad you found beauty in these words. *S* Thank you very much.

Ivy Rose: I can't tell you how much your response means to me... I just thank you from the bottom of my heart.

People who know us know the story... but I'd hate to mislead anyone. The grief is Cindy's... I share it because I love her. Thank you all so very much for helping me keep my promise. *S*

Rainbow Girl: My dear Little Chick, I've heard that friends are family we choose for ourselves... so I AM your family... not by birth but by choice and by love. *S*

And speaking of love... a certain scalawag sends his. *S*

Tell Snoops to take care of you... and maybe he could email his loving aunt every now and then??? *G* HUSG... always.
