          The Revulsion of the Cynic
                      or
            The Ecstacy Rap(t)
http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/2002/03/08/news/local/2817260.htm

Bulbous Bacchanalian* bane
earthly pleasures are the prelude to earthly pain,
did morals have a quarrel at the oral drain
where bouncers had announced admitting only marked of Cain?

Raucous Bacchae was your answer
that Mephistopheles and you pair perfect dancers
and too you're designate to drive the necromancers*
on a ride of fratricide imbide of hypno trancers?

Pill drop no stop hip hop night
were ya zoomin' to the boomin' in the neon lights,
ecstatic and erractic portable crash site,
unacrobatic, intercepted homeless man mid flight?

How'd yer pair of rider's advise?
Did spirits Faust* and goddess Hecate* justify,
ignore as just a bore the windshield yoked man's cries,
pump up the volume and garage him till he dies?

Then sex and peaceful sleep you went,
the morning sent to peek in on new resident
two nights he spent in torment yet you were hellbent,
off you went but first lament (apology no doubt meant)

Somewhere there's a special box
on a private little cellblock with some special locks
where the public walks and gawks through portholed mocks
of web'ed windshields viewing you in lifelong stocks.

*Bacchus-(myth) god of wine
bacchanalia- drunken feast, orgy
bacchae- female attendants of Bacchus
*Mephistopheles- one of the 7 chief devils
*necromancy- conjuration, black arts, magic
practiced by a witch or sorcerer
*Faust- character of medieval legend who sold his
        soul to the devil
*Hecate- (myth) a goddess of earth and hades
         associated with sorcery, hounds and
         crossroads

This gave me a surreal vison of a life consumed with avarice, in eternity paying the price. Very well constructed!
