I've walked the beach
watching sunset in glorious hues
I cannot describe,
but still feel
With burning intensity,
as the tide came in
washing with gentle laps
the traces of foot prints left
from passing lovers
playing children

Now I sit in darkened room
with cold frosting panes
watching fireplace flicker
dancing shadows reminding me of
swaying tropical palms
without the warmth
longing for days and nights
wrapped in breezes and your arms

So I'll dream of the shore tonight
hoping the waves gentle ebb
and the tides relentless pull
will cleanse this burning ache for you
and those days of desire
from the shores of my heart

Ron

Being with one you love changes the way everything looks.  You show us the summer and the winter of the heart with this poem.  I wish you love!

Well done!  Perfect play of words begining to end carrying the flow of multiple emotions start to finish coherently and wonderfully.

Exquisite bit of romance, Cpat! Great to take time to read you again. Enjoyed this one, per usual.

Ah, the true birth of romance comes from the sea. And the palm trees, well, they are a close second. This is beautiful.
