time ticks slowly down
inching like a snail in a fifty yard dash
twenty four hours till takeoff
seventy two hours till arrival
takeoff, arrive, which one to rejoice
lack of sleep approaches critical mass
meltdown becomes immenent
a roomfull of candles for a moth
sensory overload
minutes screaming like a freight train
mind starts tracking like amtrak
from coast to coast and two times more in between
will they be there or will they forget?
weather time location paperwork
shuffled together
an aftermath of 52 card pickup
do I have everything?
can't even remember if my shoelaces are packed
jokes laughs dreams ideas smiles
so excited I can't tell if I've slept or not
seconds pass
time stands still
all at once
twenty four hours to leave
seventy two hours to get there
and five minutes to get home
where's my towel?
last minute reminders
on things that can be left behind
while I go home
to see my angel

I really enjoyed reading this peice of poetry although it seemed to end to quickly. I really loved the line "inching like a snail in a fifty yard dash". Anyway thankyou for sharing such a wonderful peice.

(sigh) Oh James, I think we can all relate to these experiences as we all grow up, I can imagine all the nervous energy I can be drawn upon when I share my first dates with my dream girl! (smiles) You are never alone! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
