Miss Her

Miss her.
Yesterday…the day before - tomorrow, miss her.
Miss the way her aura weaves with mine,
the way she and I laugh spontaneously at the same thought - together,
the way she curls one finger in hello - love you.
Miss her.
The way she sits on the end of the bed,
slowly inserting her foot into a stocking ,
gently smoothing the wrinkles with both hands - miss her,
the lingering smell of her in the air,
her toiletries on the bathroom sink,
the wafting sound of her singing in the shower…
Miss her.
God how I miss her,
even with her standing - right here.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh my gosh, I feel exactly the same way you do tonight, sweet friend, this last week I have missed my Joanna so so much as she's finishing moving in Florida and I have missed talking to her so much I feel so lovesick inside! (sigh) This brought tears to my eyes, sweet friend, you have such a loving heart and I know your love will forever be blessed to share true happiness with you forever! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is beautiful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jimmy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

When you write like this...
please remind me to keep breathing as I read it...okay?
You see...this one took my breath away!

not too far at all. . . but, I don't know if the meaning has been heard here. . . perhaps, another reading. . . yes. . .

well done Sir. . .

perhaps i read it differently than the others - i saw this as a wish that the person you truly loved was still "there." as in the physical presence remains, but the emotional connection is gone (whether she has changed, you have, or whatever, you didn't elaborate on). in that vein, this is a well-rendered, melancholy reminiscence of times gone by that i enjoyed.

Thank you very, very much...everyone.  I love the two views this brings out in people...sorta sad for some, just the opposite for others; says it walks a fine line between the two...neat!  I chose the "love her to death view, myself", my son the other. And he's not a sad person so...why???  Perception...I guess.

Hmmmm.

Miss...you all,

jwesley

jwesley...what a perfectly beautiful poem. I hear the love pouring from your soul.  Lucky woman to have that kind of love beside her.

ok.... just re-read it....

yes, i see the vacancy.... the loss..... the possibility of death

damn!!

you know what? to have multiple meanings in a piece of work is exactly what makes it so good... the layered meanings... to strive for that is a goal of mine and damn ... you have succeeded so powerfully with this

it is a fine piece of writing
