Fly Away

I wish I could fly away from here
And go where ever you are, dear
To smell the perfume of your hair
And make your voice all that I hear

I wish I could fly away to you
And lift your face when you are blue
Look up at the midnight sky
And ask yourself why

Why do I wish to fly to you
Why do I die when you are blue
Why does the Earth orbit around the sun
Why does the rose wither when love is done

Love, is that the key
Truly that's what it must be
To make me swim across the widest sea
To long to be all that you see

Love's the master and I'm the slave
It will follow me to my grave
And cast the rose upon the ground
And the follow another around

Thanks for your replies everyone

This is my newest poem, and one of my favorites, that I wrote that is. I thought you might like it because, after all, don't we all tend to wish to fly away to the one we love. I hope you all have a love one that you wish to fly away too. Me, I may be sitting here, but my heart is flying to the one I love

May god fill your heart with happiness, and your life with love.
