All grief is frozen in time,
black and white like the photo
of the Vietnamese girl, her clothes
burned off by napalm, silent
wail running towards the lense

                  Forever

Unvenial I suppose,
that I would always
witness the wracked
and ruined, stationary,
still and hushed but
never really invisible,

more a stick man
with dots for eyes
and a mouth like an
inconsistent performing
stock, it's two ends
never both on the upswing.

Her mewl at the end
of a sentimental movie,
an excuse to weep openly
in my presence, cover
for the regret of our
Love being over.

The squalled anguish of
an adolescent, frustrated
at the limits of her
control and the lack
of her parents.

The sobbing and
prolonged moan of
a battered mother
in an age when only
blood had ears.

The blubber of the
cuckolded friend
in unavoidable realization.

The keen of the
only child at the
funeral with strangers.

The whimper mid song
in the shower when
heart and mind refused
the distraction.

The pule at
dicovering the
carcass of an
animal friend of ages.

Sorrowful invitation
to the wretched bawl
whose members plantive
and stricken screams have
long since gone to the wind

but whose somber
and doleful crying
stays colorless as
silent physiognomy
in the stick man's psyche

Forever

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Richard, this is sooooo very sad yet so compassionately touching, I believe everybody hurts sometimes, and the tears we cry become the turning point of how we become the compassionate loving people we are born to be and how we reach out to others and console their tears! (big hugggsssssss) I was abused and battered as a child by neighborhood boys until my pre-teen years, and I believe that was the turning point for me through those tears. I feel so sad always reflecting on that pain, yet I too am also proud of myself, for becoming the compassionate person I want to be, and now I want to devote my life to helping children who, like me, bear this sorrow they yearn to express and help them and mentor them! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, my thoughts and prayers go out to all those who feel this kind of suffering, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

mirror mirror on the wall...............
is it your turn to clean them, or mine
either way...the reflections are blinding.
well done poet R.

So it seems your saving grace was only saving face,
you thought he was wanting you...
but he was only wanting you to let him off the hook.

Such snapshots
black and white some
pale or bloodstained
real or imgined
stark and real your images.

Writing at its best!
