Silence

"It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to silence;"
NIV Psalms 115:17

No hum of motors
No flow of odors.

No laughter from girls and boys
No music playing. No noise.

Calm, I hear no breeze
No rustling in trees.

I hear no breathing
No coming, no leaving.

I hear no walking
Only my thoughts are talking.

Who am I? Without sound?
Nothing moving, around,

Only silence.

Death? are you speaking of death Newell? That is what it sounds like to me. Nicely done, like a little riddle. floria

Thanks floria, for your question. Actually I was not specifically speaking of actual physical death. I began just pondering what life would be like in silence. Of course death is often used to denote final silence, and I could see where you might think that I was writing about physical death. And even when we live silently, all sound activity ceasing, it could seem like a sort of death, until we begin using our other senses to receive God's wonderful reflections of life. Thank you for your interest.

*sigh* I love the kind of silence that I feel in the early morning, sitting outside in summer, listening to the world wake around me...Wonderful poem, dear man...**big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Yes, Karen. Silence is golden when we are peace with ourselves. I send you my wishes for a wonderful day.
