My grandson's name is Jay
he dawdles here and there
he's zigging-zagging every day
exploring everywhere

He runs in front of people
they sometimes get quite cross
once he even climbed a steeple
to see the view from the top

He interested in lots of things
and when we go out shopping
he looks at pets, car-parks and rings
it's walking between stopping

In the mall, hide and seek
is the game we play
he wanders off to take a peek
I search for him all day

I shepherd him everywhere
to minimize the trauma
but people often stop and stare
at my origin of the former

I may look like a drunk or lout
but I'm not drinking, stalking
although I stagger round about
I'm only Jay walking

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

(giggles) I too love to walk and explore new places and I can't help but turn all around me and stop to see everything sometimes, even if it can get me in trouble! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a delight to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kethry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Keth darling sister of my soul and keeper of my heart’s song, you know I love this fabulous poetic ramble through your eyes of walking with Jay. I utterly adore this, so incredibly visual, such a unique and wonderful view of talking a walk through town with a small whirlwind in tow.

Do I love this darling heart? YES! You know I do

I wub you Kethp

Love and warm stuff

What a delightful read! *S* My little nephew loves to "run away" from me... but he's always looking back over his shoulder to make sure I'm following. *S* I enjoyed this much, Kethry.

Really really cute one, Keth...
It reminds me of my son Victor when he was a young child.  One time he tried to fly because he actually thought that if he tried hard enough...he could.
He ended up in the emergency room with stitches under his lower lip....luckily thats all he ended up with.  He still has the scar to this day...23 years later.

I have a new grandson named Jay...but he's only 5 months old.  A bit too young to wander off and get into trouble yet.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Auntie Kethp my favourite aunt I was looking for this one mum said she’d asked you to repost it an quite rightly too. It’s sooooooo well written, as mum would say utterly utterly divine I’m spending way too much time with her I think. Mum says that this was just how Paul and I were She’s not telling the truth I was an angel, Minnie, short for me nanny, told me so

Really this is an excellent piece of writing and so very very descriptive. You paint a word picture well, very well. You did a good job and thank you from both mum and me for putting this back on the front page

I wub you

Love and warm stuff

errrrrrr.   what's the proper term for your cousin's kid?
oh well....
my cousin's son Harrison is just like this, only a bit older - but man his batteries are cold-fusion powered, and he about runs me down to a nub whenever i'm watching him hehe i can identify, you've captured it exactly
it's worth it, isn't it, though?

Mistletoe,
It's nice to see you are still a child at heart.

Marsha,
well whirlwind comes close to describing him...but curiousity personified comes closer.

Startime,
Aren't all grandchildren like this...that's one reason why we love them, another is that we get to hand them back...sick from all the junk food we've fed them.

suthern,
nephews and grandchildren come in the same basket as far as I'm concerned, both gorgeous - both exhausting.

Lyra,
just wait he will

Krissy,
as you would know, I am putty in your mother's hands...besides it got her to stop talking for three minutes

NCC,
I love the expression cold fusion powered batteries. thanks for telling me about your 2nd cousin

jwesley,
If you can remember you are too young to have grandchildren...so accept my sympathy.

Magnus,
my heart goes out to you...I often find myself grinning and exasperated all in one breath.

Deer,
you are so eloquent!
The numbers are in order of preference.
7 not quite
1 and likely to be only
118,  I number all my poems once they're posted.
? which is why you have the comment at the top.
and  20,736 because it's such a gross square rooted number

Well now...Lisa waited to give a grandchild until she was 20 (just turned 21 yesterday matter-of-fact) and I'm 58, so really it just has to be chalked up to I was really intuned to my kid's growing up.  Afterall...they were the only ones I'd have and I wanted to remember all I could...and this was, after all else is stripped away...a really neat aspect.

Loved it this read too, my friend.
