Once upon a rising moon,
...I sailed to heaven's far,
Encaptured in night's sensual dance,
...I touched upon a star,
You took my hand and led me there,
...in glow of welkin's light,
Until we reached far end of ever,
...beyond the dark of night.
I tasted of sweet love divine,
...as kissed your satin lips,
As at the helm of Southern Cross,
...we sailed on passion's ship.
We danced as one to Muses' song,
...until the night was done,
Entwined in rhythm of lover's waltz,
...'til warmth of dawning's sun.

Your format reminds me of another poet here...a favored one who hasn't shown himself in quite a while...

in the meantime, I think I shall read this again, I enjoyed it so much the first time around...

Sunshine, I am glad you enjoyed my little poem.
(some poets change their email, lose their password and after several unsuccessful attempts to get their password, go ahead and post under another name.  I don't know if any favored poets have had that problem, but I know of one fellow who attempts poetry who had that problem, *smile*)

A classical beauty in this poem.  I can see the hand of the old masters in this elegant, dancing poem. Thank you so much for posting it.  ***Ivy Rose
