I was not just a springtime butterfly
upon wings of maybes or maybe not
I was but a butterfly dancing
to a breeze of a tenor solo
jack rabbits and roadrunners
sitting upon my welcome mat

The deer peeked in my window
with large gentle eyes
than you came along
with a butterfly net
and painted my wings
wishful shades of love

I hoped to lift your spirits
and carry them afar
upon brilliant wings
above mountainous waves
of reality
above the pain of despair
I hoped we could share
a slice of life together
thawing frozen pastries
into sweet graham cracker crumbs

Sometimes I wish
I could go back to that house
in the seclusion of the country
upon wings of a dream
touched by only a critter or two

Victoria - You have made me hungry for graham crackers.  Why do you have to mix food in with your writes?lol  Seriously, this was great.  I really enjoyed the analogies you incorporated with the butterfly.  Nicely done.
