One Less Straw

by Michael

The world will not note my passing,
or that there is more air to breathe,
with less clutter in the landfills,
one less straw in the basket weave.

Burned cinders cast upon a beach,
to drown in early morning tide,
to mix with sands and be no more.
I see no need that tears be cried.

So very unremarkable,
this heart that beat within your times,
this man that fell and learned to crawl,
that spent his days in making rhymes.

Save tears, that they be better spent,
on lives that shaped this world you see.
I ask that not a single one,
be wept for ashes swept to sea.

No need for concern.  It's just a poem

Stars will shine when I am gone
Earth will spin on as before
Gulls still race along the shore
Morning star, still kiss the dawn

I believe we would miss you, dear friend.  If fact, I KNOW we would

You would indeed be missed...there is no one who could even begin to take your place upon these blue pages...A large gap would open from our tears of loss....**big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Ah Michael...you want to make me cry?  I know it's just a poem but darn...so sad?
You have helped to shape the world and make it a better place just by being in it with your art and written words.  Don't you even think about departing for a very very long time!

Sheesh, kind of a sad poem, Michael.
Don't go away, don't even think about it.

Enjoyed this, Auguste, tho so very sad...

One more tender heart
surely to be missed
One more emotion
whispered without kiss
one more man
who failed to see his worth
one unique soul
who's loved upon this earth

never go...

Auguste - I was about to call 911 until I saw your excerpt at the end saying that it was just a poem.lol  This was really good.  It is a shame that rhymes can't change the world.

Michael,

Sheesh! This is sooooooo sad!!! I am glad it is just a poem and you're not feeling this way.
Know that you would be missed, and my tears would fall.

Hugs,
