Last Man Down The Mountain

~*Marge Tindal*~

Last man down the mountain
call the Spirit of the Cherokee
Ancient tellings of Vision Quests
meant to set us free ~~~>

Bring the peaceful promises
to lay across the land
Last man down the mountain
come and take my hand

Spread the verdant valley
with abundance once again
Last man down the mountain
bring the Cherokee refrain ~~~>

All across this spacious land
fill our hearts with noble pride
Last man down the mountain
join the Cherokee side-by-side

For in Spirits Walking
visions fulfilled are meant to be
Last man down the mountain
bring the song of the Cherokee ~~~>

*Touching my heritage songs~
~This exquisite art piece is from The Allen Eckman Collection~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

And as always, this had me in tears! It is just so moving and powerful when your heritage words come pouring forth. May the Spirits continue to shine on you and may they protect and shine on Little Miss Delaney too. Hugs, Marti

Just a note to say we are watching Robert Mirabel, "Painted Cave" tonight on our local PBS. What an incredible special of Pueblo, Navajo flute and dance. Spirit songs and dances, connecting past to present, and prayers of hopefulness for a peaceful future.

The last man down the mountain is a haunting refrain....may there always be a few hold outs hidden keeping the Cherokee heritage alive.....and if the day does come..may the last man down the mountain be a woman.....a woman with your spirit Marge......Dan
