Here, Now, Forever

And there in Heaven the angels gathered,
In a golden green grove beyond the stars,
The priveleged souls sat at attention,
To the father who stood at the head of the class.
"Heaven's best! Hear me out!"
"Of the highest and most sacred chivalry,"
"Man needs a friend to comfort him,"
"In his time of misery,"
Jack and Jasper were among this crowd,
Who listened with the most solemn intent,
As thier leader told them how,
To make the lonely ones feel better.
To make the lonely ones feel better.
"You will have four legs,"
"You will have fur"
"You will have senses and understanding,"
"That will always keep you in tune with me."
Jack and Jasper sat next to each other,
Eagerly jotting notes,
Two kindred souls, many years old,
Who always did thier best to make things alright.

God alone is alone. Man is not.

*sigh* it is amazing how much love dogs give to us so unconditionally...it would be wonderful if we could learn to love like that....I love this poem..I love what it made me feel and the wonder of it all...Thank you, so much...**big hugs**

Well done, Eagle Scorpion. Pets really are the best listeners, and can comfort us just by their presence, sometimes even when human touch and words cannot.

YAY!!! They always say that dogs are man's best friend, I really do believe that is true, along with birds and fish and all other wonderful gifts of Mother Nature! (smiles) May we all love our friends unconditionally and feel for them always, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much, this is a fabulous message! This poem truly is beautiful. I love my cat too and that's probably what happens in Heaven... I like the idea that our "friends" are chosen to be with us.. thanks for putting the idea out there.
