This night
rain falls
I feel the pull of you
can’t stop the ache
love flowing
all the while
still knowing
my heart
never said
the words
never felt them
didn’t intend for them
to ever be uttered
as defiant
puddles form
fill to spilling
rivulets dance
in angry splash sounds
reminding me of tears
I still cry
behind closed door clouds
in my night sky
chanting to your soul
I never said good-bye

Susan,
Regret intensely expressed. I love the imagery which so effectively communicates your emotions here. Great write.

Then perhaps you shouldn't say goodbye, Susan.  Is your rain there yet, sweetie?     (((hugs)))

SEA-

I agree with Auguste.  Maybe you shouldn't say Good-bye!  This is very well-expressed!

I finally get it!  lol  This series from you has been different, filled with longing and regret of words unspoken.  My space is so different these days, I was a bit blonder than usual in understanding.  But tonight, I get it.

like Duncan  says, none of us ever intends to say goodbye...but when you can, it does bring some closure....the wonderings stop.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Susan, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to you and your tears and everyone who feels this way and I pray that they can all say warmly goodbye before turning away and holding loves memories in their hearts and being proud for one another as dear friends when they each find new love! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is so sad but beautiful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Susan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

*sigh* how I dislike goodbyes...even the thought now brings tears to my eyes....they always seem to leave something unsaid....Your heart rains with emotions in this poem and I easily felt it...**big big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Hey...Duncan got it!!!!!
see the power of the ache ....
it speaks volumes..and inspires great things in your pen.

So it seems your saving grace was only saving face,
you thought he was wanting you...
but he was only wanting you to let him off the hook.

This is one of the reasons that I hate the rain when I'm alone.  Well done.

Thank you.

This is excellent, SEA... so very poignant. Rain and the sea do pull out the memories, don't they? *S*
