Love’s Warmth

Sometimes in the dark
silence of night time,
when you talk of the past,
I can hear the faint echoes
Of the ghosts that haunt
your struggling soul.
And all I want to do
is hold my arms open
and feel you come to me,
letting my arms wrap
around you, consuming
you in my love’s warmth.
I want to feel your head
rest against the soft
swell of my breast.
I want to stroke your hair
and whisper words
of my undying love.
I want to attempt to
chase away the memories
that haunt your heart.
I want my love consume
you, protect you.
I want to make you feel
safe and peaceful,
if only for one night.

You'll make a good mom some day, Tara, because this sounds like a poem of a mother consoling her child after a bad dream.  I know it's not about a child, however, and even as adults, we also sometimes need consoling like a child that wakes with a nightmare.  Nice work!  *hugs*

This is love indeed. To want to take another’s pain and chase it away. How beautifully you have written this Tara.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
