Rewrite:

Hope

Hope spins on the weight of reward
And held by the thread of a cord
The mythical hold of a hair.
The fragile with rainbows declare.

Meager and thin, narrow and slim
Bears weight by the scant of a whim
Wearied, worried wings of despair
Hope is a refuge we declare.

Hope a voucher of salvation
A handle on depravation
Cheer on the face of the future
Held in the clamp of a suture.

This is the bright of the light side
Apathy, dark of the night side
Improbable the eulogy
And the wine is called lethargy.

If you lean the cane of torpor
Then your life will be a pauper.

only you could come up with a line, an image and thought that cool ...that deep and that profound.
I mean, think about it...really take in that lines intend ...all that it encompasses, all that it conjures and holds true ....then look at the whole poems moral ....well, it blows my mothy mind. *S*

In dark of night, I was told
no theme, does my poetry hold
but you hold constant in my hear
all that I would hold so dear

Keep teaching Sy...and when you are in the archives, bring back for the masses, The Golden Key...

'tis still on my desk....

This is beautiful, Seymour... and so wise. *S* And it's almost enough to make me put my war on hope on hold. *G* (I've sworn to beat the little sucker into the ground if it should ever raise its fragile head around me again! LOL)

Rhyme devine, and hope afloat, and yes, bring back "The Golden Key" - just read it and it is meant to be renewed regularly, kind of like a tuneup

How true Sy. What is life without hope? Meaningless and empty. Though, may I say, hope is only part of the battle. The other part being the quest to bring the hope to reality.
