He was her prince, or so he thought,

But he presumed that she could be bought

For thirty pieces of silver I'm told,

But not for all of Fort Knox's gold. . .

He wanted her all aflame inside,

And desired for her to be his bride.

But no sooner than he had told her this-

She realized he surely would  miss . . .

"Do not try to clip my wings" said she,

"I'd never want to change you" said he.

"And never tell me a lie so cold,

Or treat me cruel and act too bold. . ."

He courted and tried to charm the Sprite

Lied and schemed to his wicked delight

But all along knowing, the girl was aloof,

And with her magic made the Knave go pouf!

"No matter how great you are, you'll never be greater than yourself."

Interesting read, enjoyed your poem.
boy tries to get girl,
boy fails,
boy goes pouf..
sounds like the story of more than a few knight's (or knave's) lives.

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhh...this is a beautifully bittersweet tale of love, sweet friend, sounds like it didn't work out too well! (kiss on cheek) May this prince and princess both find the love their hearts desire, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Cathy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
