Near golden sunsets

Its
creeping.

Its slow descent
from the frost
encrusted glass
takes it only inches
from a lifeless
plunge into
snow banks and concrete.

Slow motion enlargement
of miniscule proportions
decreasing with the flow
of temperature,
Dripping its death march
tears
one by mournful one.

A layered glass encasement
envelops heart struck
frigidity,
Masking spider web splinterings
within its core.

The sun climbs
the snow-shrouded horizon
Casting killing light,
destroying heat.
Its frigid hold loosens,
a shattering scream breaks
the frozen silence;
the icicle's perfection
breaks into a thousand
prismatic shards,
Catching the morning's sunlight
in a rainbow of emotions.

Ah!!! At first I thought it was just snow that was melting; I love this one Philip. A perfect description of an icicle thawing.

What imagery!  Melting icicles never seemed so tragic. The imagery fits well the inevitable approach of death and grief.

This is excellent writing, everything is perfect, and your use of imagery is clever, I could picture every moment

Take care,
