The No Motion Dance
By Larry Chadwick

My feet need an education,
I want them to follow my heart.
To hold you close in my embrace,
Unwilling to let anything keep us apart.

If music has the ability to make me cry,
And give me desires I want you to know.
Why can’t my feet follow my heart,
Moving to express what I want to show?

Those songs that put me in that mood,
Sensing love as it was always meant to be.
Rushing into the depths of my heart,
Bursting out in goose bumps for all to see.

Only one solution comes to my mind,
Which I want to act on right here, right now.
Let me hold you close while standing here,
Even if my feet won’t move anyhow.

Acting on your heart isn't always easy to do...but sometimes, it's well worth it.  Go for it, Larry!

I loved the concept behind this Larry! It's amazing how we "feel" music, and yet sometimes our feet just don't know how to interpret it. I love how you wove that into the sentiments behind this piece. Just terrific!

Best wishes,
/Kit

So is it that you like the
no motion dance better
or that your feet need
some lessons?
*s

you always write
such witty yet tender poems.

Larry Hi there I like this, are you asking? If you’re asking then I’m dancing.

This is written with such wit and so tenderly too. Get on the floor and dance with me I like this one I really do

Kit,
Thank you so much for sharing your response to this. The frustration of being a romantic that doesn't know how to dance is at times quite overwhelming. Your understanding is appreciated.   (what you did for me)

M!
THE true confession is that lessons would probably be a waste of money! Oh well...thanks so much for your kind words.

Krissy,
I think I just described the only dance I know! LOL And doing that with you would probably not make your mother very happy. ROTFL

Noah,
You too?! Too bad. Oh well...thanks for the thoughts.

Lauren,
To dance or not? Your method is pretty intimidating you know. Thanks.
