Sometimes I dream of yesterday,
of fenced backyards and children's play,
used tire swings and cardboard forts; shouts of summer's glee,
of kick the can and hide and seek; of running ever free.

Those were the days of joys that last,
of cloudless skies, warm summer sun; dark shadows never cast,
then fireflies in twilight's glow, signalled end of play,
open windows, evening's breeze; came close of summer's day.

Pajamas worn on clean white sheets; drifting off to sleep,
into the land of childhood dreams; memories to keep,
dreams of space ships, fantasies; no dreams of pain nor sorrows,
when one is young, the only dreams, are dreams of one's tomorrows.

Tim,

I remember when I was younger, all the adults would tell me to enjoy my time as a kid.  Once I became an adult, I'd forever want to go back.  Of course at the time I thought they were insane LOL. Now, however, I realize how right they were.  Things seemed so simple then....   Great write, I enjoyed

Hugs,
Tara

Amazing how we don't realize what we had until that time in our lives has past. What seemed like boredom as a child now has us longing for the simplicity and peace of those times.

Tim - Thanks for taking me back to those carefree summer days of my youth.  I do sense a sad tone in this write.  One of longing to go back to when things were simple and dreams were still new and obtainable.  Just one man's opinion.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Tim, this is soooooo beautifully touching, I couldn't help but cry reading this because I always wanted to enjoy my time as a boy everyday but I was abused by others all the time and I never got to have happy dreams to hold and I just didn't want to live! (sigh) I dream of falling in love with my dream girl RosePetal so much now for she is the only thing that makes me feel young again! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, may the beautiful memories of childhood and bliss forever shine in your heart! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

*sigh* the innocent days of childhood...how wonderful they were...but I believe we can still take joy in that kind of innocent feeling...it just means we have to want to stop long enough to let the feelings and fantasies again flow into our hearts....*sigh* I guess I will always be a dreamer...and I am glad of it...This is a stunning poem, Tim...I love it...**big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
