His Roller Coaster
By Larry Chadwick

I have a friend who has his own roller coaster,
Though he spent very little it cost him a lot.
He takes it with him wherever he goes,
And it’s not for sale it really can’t be bought.

If you saw him when he rode his roller coaster,
You would actually not be willing on this ride to go.
Even though it’s highest point is so high,
And it’s lowest point so low.

It’s that emotional roller coaster of life,
Which all of us seem to know.
But the average one isn’t that tall,
And gets smaller as we grow.

So I don’t envy his ride of extremes,
On this roller coaster of highs and lows.
Yet I linger somewhere nearby,
It’s what a friend does when he knows.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Larry, this is soooooo beautifully touching, I think we all have these feelings when our emotions can be like roller-coasters and it can really be a ride we pay so much fate and attention for only to finally ride a carousel of peace in the end! (sigh) This is fabulous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alway shine upon you!

Love,

I'm glad you're there for him. We all need someone, and the people who carry their own rollercoasters most of all. Well-written and good.

Lauren,
Thank you so very much.

Noah,
Thanks for such a great response. "carousel of peace" I liked that.

Nan,
Thanks Nan. I'd want the same.

It's not a ride to envy... but he's lucky to have a friend like you. I like this very much, Larry.

I have known people like this and it makes me crazy, but I stand at their side and try to stay calm. I don't like roller coasters in real life or emotional life. Good write here Larry. floria

I keep it tucked away in my closet...but

me for a ride...Nice poem my friend...

Much as I love the roller coasters at the theme parks, I must admit I prefer to live my life on a more even keel. Though, I have ridden the odd roller coaster of life too. The highs are exhilerating, but I don’t like the lows much!! And hey, I want to hear more about Balladeers ferris wheel!! Lol

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

suthern,
Thanks. You are so completely right.

floria,
I got off my roller coaster in my 20's. But know the ride too well. Thanks for your kind words.

Karen,
I'm with you. It's a preferable plan!
Thanks.

Magnus,
I hate it when that happens! Thanks friend.

Balladeer,
ROTFL Cheaper than a roller coaster, I assume! LOL Thanks.

Tracey,
Totally and maybe we should dare Balladeer to bring out his ferris wheel and show it off! ROTFL Thanks and I'm with you on this topic.

You know, I hope that my friends are like you when my rollercoaster decides to take me for a ride!

I'm sure they are...but if they're not. I'll be here. Thanks. ROTFL at your disclaimer about love. And shame on you!
